Moms for Liberty and the fight for education

so i just came across this article about Moms for Liberty and their push for parental control in education, and while i get that parents want to be involved in their kids' schooling, it feels like a slippery slope when you think about how this could be manipulated, especially under a trump-like administration that thrives on division and misinformation. their motto about being primary decision-makers sounds great on paper, but we all know how trump has weaponized parental rights to stoke fear and push his agenda, like when he tried to undermine public education with his rhetoric about indoctrination. this isn't just about parents wanting a say, it's about creating an environment where misinformation can thrive and where teachers might feel pressured to conform to a certain narrative instead of teaching facts and critical thinking. if we let this kind of thinking take root, we risk losing the very foundation of our democracy, which relies on informed citizens who can think for themselves rather than being fed a steady diet of half-truths and fear. education is supposed to be about empowering kids with knowledge, not limiting their access to diverse perspectives just because some parents are scared or misinformed. we need to be vigilant about these movements because they can easily turn into tools for those who want to control the narrative, and we can't let that happen. check out the article here:
